Simmonds, Over 70 Years of Cold Forging Expertise
Why Cold Forge With Simmonds - Cost Effective Manufacturing
Economic use of materials: Less material waste.
Higher quality parts: By forging the component, the grain structure deforms to the shape of the component resulting in no shear planes. The enhanced grain structure of the metal makes the component stronger and less prone to failure.
Design to Cost: Our engineering expertise and in depth knowledge of each stage of the cold forging process enables us to work towards meeting your cost saving targets whilst maintaining product quality and performance.
St Cosme - The Home of Simmonds Cold Forging
Our extensive manufacturing facility in St. Cosme, France, boasts a range of cold forging machinery. Designed for varying processes and volume runs, it produces complex parts to our customer requirements in numerous materials.
We form the component part as near to net shape as physically possible from wire or rod. Detail that cannot be forged is then processed using one or a series of the following secondary operations:
Secondary Operations at St Cosme
- Machining
- Tapping
- Threading
- Crimping
- Stamping
- Heat Treatment
- Surface Treatment
- Assembly
